Message from the Regional Coordinator

We had an incredible and very active year in Region 8. New committees were instituted. These include: the Region 8 IT Committee, Military Services Committee and Women's Program Committee. These committees are in addition to our Civil Service Committee and Political Action Committee.

I have had the pleasure of visiting many membership meetings during the year. I sincerely thank all the divisions who invited me. Whenever possible, Arlea Igoe, our Secretary-Treasurer accompanies me to provide more information to our members. On several occasions, Vice President Joe Fox and President Ken Brynien have also come with me.

If any division would like to extend an invitation, I would appreciate the opportunity to meet the members.

Our membership continues to increase and is now at 19,000 members. I hope that we will see many new members getting active. Since taking over as Regional Coordinator, I reestablished regular Regional Steward meetings and I am happy to report that attendance has increased significantly this yearbut there is always room for more folks to attend. The 2008 schedule will be published soon.

I always encourage members to get more active in PEF, be it their division or the region. Please consider becoming a part of our PEF activists.
